Exhibition architecture that provides both physical and conceptua structure for a multi-venue show
Theatrum Botanicum looks to the botanical world as a stage for politics at large through film, photography, installation and sound. The multi-venue exhibition shows the artist’s work of this major body of work in conversation with other artworks, chosen by the artist.

The exhibition design utilises flexible, lightweight shelving components that can be packed and adapted for the spatial conditions of the venues. These elements provide the structural support for the exhibits both physically and conceptually - creating different spatial arrangements and allowing the artworks to be in conversation in the different sections.
The show includes projections, monitors, sound, photography and ephemera. At the core is a three channel projection in a cinematic setup around which the other works evolve. Video installations pose a unique challenge as they require precise calibration of both light and sound settings, which must be carefully balanced with each other. We placed them within their own spaces but created visual connections between the moving pictures and the static works. The exhibition design was adapted for six locations across Europe and Western Asia.
